Peace making course
PTEE has started a Bachelor’s degree-level course entitled “Christian Peacemaking.” The purpose of the course is to equip evangelical Arab leaders with the necessary theological grounding and practical skills to mediate conflicts and divisions of various kinds and to train others in effective peacemaking in their churches and communities. The project involves the research, writing, editing, and field testing of a college-level self-instructional theological textbook to be used as a course manual. The book will be written in the PTEE Curriculum Development Center in Amman, Jordan. We aim to offer this course in 2010. Need $50,000.

PTEE is trying to raise 50,000 JD locally to help fund Christian education to Arab church leaders and members. By buying a recycle bag for 5 JD people support PTEE, by filling the bag people support Jordan by keeping it clean and support the people whose work it is to collect and sort the recyclable materials.

Building fund
The PTEE has an urgent need for an adequate and flexible physical headquarters from which to administer and develop its expanding programs. After extensive research and consideration of multiple options, the PTEE has determined that the building form which it presently operates in Amman Jordan serves as the best fit for its current program needs and its future visions for expansion. We have discussed purchasing the building from its current owner and renovating the space, and arrived at a total amount needed of $950,000.

The Secondary Education Equivalent Diploma provides and alternative route for adult Christian leaders to earn a secondary (high school) education. It will be available initially to interested church members in Sudan, Egypt, Iraq, Syria, and Algeria. The PTEE Ministry Center in Amman, Jordan will manage the development of the study program, with qualified native Arabic speakers from several countries helping to prepare the course books for the twelve courses to be developed. We project that we will have the first graduates by the end of 2013. We estimate needing $365,000.

Scholarships
PTEE would like to provide scholarships for tutors, staff, and students involved with the PTEE. Student scholarships will cover the cost of tuition and other costs associated with studying with the PTEE. While it is a very accessible and inexpensive program, we want to make sure all have the ability to study with us. Tutor and staff scholarships provide tuition, transportation, and accommodation for those volunteer with the PTEE to further their own education and qualifications by earning a Masters degree. We hope to fund ten of our associates each year. Need $10,000.
Syria
The PTEE program in Syria would like to purchase an apartment to serve as their office headquarters. The work in this country is growing rapidly and currently the program is being operated out of three separate personal office spaces throughout the country. Consolidating and concentrating their efforts into one office will allow the staff to better communicate and run more efficiently. In addition, this headquarters will allow a main point of contact which is needed to take the next step to register with the Ministry of Culture. Need $45,000.

Sudan
The PTEE program in Sudan has great potential, but its capacity has not been reached. Currently, the PTEE in Sudan is not self-sustaining and relies on others for funding and staffing needs. The money provided for the Sudan will help establish a basis in order for PTEE Sudan to establish a small staff of people that will be able to organize, recruit, and fundraise the PTEE classes in Sudan. Need $25,000.
Country Gathering
The PTEE plans to hold regular country-wide gatherings for its students, tutors and leaders to provide them with the opportunity for fellowship, training and strategic planning. The PTEE hopes that gatherings such as these, which have been highly effective in the past, will meet some of the needs that students and tutors have for great connection to each other and will encourage committee leaders in each country to identify new leaders and initiate more classes. The PTEE is presently well-established in six countries, and has set the goal to hold three such gatherings in three countries over the next two years. The countries identified for these gatherings are Syria, Iraq and Sudan. The cost to hold these regional gatherings is estimated to be approximately $37,000.

Partnership 20/20
PTEE is aiming to expand to 22 Arab States by the year 2020. Our strategy for expansion includes finding volunteers in each country who are interested in providing theological education in their home country and organize them into a committee. From this group we train tutors and set up an administration center. We have found this model of local empowerment and leadership to be extremely effective and appropriate for our type of education. While we have the materials, resources, and reputation needed for the PTEE to be an effective educational program, the local leadership gives it validity and accessibility in each country. We hope to partner existing programs with areas which are new to PTEE to allow for a mentoring relationship between the two programs.
