After a summer, which was very good for all the family, the autumn began like a storm.
In our church in Jebel al Hussein in Amman we had open meetings in the first week of Sept., to which we invited friends and acquaintances. The result was the church was filled every evening and there was sincere interest in the message. Conversations continued outside for quite some time.
In the third week of Sept., the PTEE (The Program for Theological Education by Extension, see www.ptee.org) hosted an international academic evaluation committee. This committee interviewed faculty and students as well as the administrative staff. In the course of the week they were in Jordan and Egypt; a group of students and teachers came from Syria. The result? See the website mentioned above; it was positive and the degrees granted by the PTEE are accredited.
The second week of Oct. saw the annual general meeting of the members of the PTEE. Seen here are participants from the Sudan, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon and Iraq. The fellowship was good and we are very encouraged.
In the fourth week of Oct. was the bi-annual general assembly of MEATE (The Middle East Association for Theological Education, see www.meate.org). These are generally the presidents and academic deans of the majority of evangelical theological institutions in the Arab World. Very stimulating and envigorating, at the same time just good, basis fellowship with believers.
