PTEE’s academic curriculum is designed to help you go deeper in your knowledge of the Word of God, grow in your relationship with Jesus Christ,

become more Christ-like in relationships with family and community, and train and equip you to fulfill your ministry calling as a pastor and church

leader or in other ministries.

Specifically, the objectives of the PTEE academic programs are designed so that students might:

• become “men and women of God” by focusing on the Christian and his/her spiritual growth;
• rightly “divide the Word of the truth” by focusing on the Christian and his/her Bible;
• acquire skills necessary for service by focusing on the Christian and his/her skills;
• become citizens with a balanced social outlook by focusing on the Christian and his/her society.
  By integrating these four objectives into the curriculum, PTEE provides a well-rounded, holistic approach to the formation of leaders who are
  able not only to serve their churches and communities, but to prepare and enable others for service.

ACADEMIC PROGRAMS 

PTEE’s Bachelor of Theology , Diploma of Theology , and Certificate of Theology academic programs are accredited programs comprised of university

degree-level courses for students who have completed their secondary education, who have been a member of a church for the past two years, and

who are recommended by a pastor or church leader.

Bachelor of Theology

The Bachelor of Theology (minimum 120 credits*) will prepare students to work as a church or para-church leader.  As a senior pastor or pastoral staff

member, the graduate will be able to engage effectively with the needs of church members.  *Students who previously earned a Bachelor’s degree in

another field must complete only 54 credits to earn a B.A. in Theology.

Diploma of Theology

The Diploma of Theology (minimum 80 credits) will strengthen the graduate’s ability to function as a leader who is able to assist church and/or para-church

leaders in the fulfillment of ministry objectives, or when appropriate, lead small churches.

Certificate of Theology

The Certificate of Theology (minimum 40 credits) provides the graduate with the foundation necessary to function as a ministry group leader within church

and/or para-church contexts. Students in this program develop their Bible knowledge, ministry skills, spiritual maturity, and personal characteristics.

The academic awards are granted sequentially as students successfully complete the required number of credits. Thus, the Certificate and Diploma 

are awarded as accomplishment milestones on the way to completing a Bachelor of Theology.  A student completing one award automatically moves

on toward the goal of the next highest award.

Many students choose to work toward one of these academic awards. However, students are welcome to take any courses of interest that are offered

in their local area, whether or not they are working towards one of these awards.

The Certificate of Ministry is comprised of 21 courses aimed to disciple and equip students to serve effectively in a range of ministries community,

and to contribute as a responsible citizen in his/her workplace, society, and nation.

The Certificate of Ministry is designed for:

• those living in the Arab World who did not have the opportunity to complete high school,
• the bi-vocational and small church leader who do not have the time necessary to commit to a degree-level program.
• the new Christian who needs a broad Biblical foundation.

Course Requirements

Flexibility is a hallmark of PTEE, thus courses offered, class sizes, and locations will differ from site to site based on the needs and interest of students.

Students may choose courses according to their interests or they may work systematically toward an academic award, taking courses at a rate that best

suits their situation and needs.

Each 12-week PTEE course has two significant parts: (1) High-quality, culturally relevant, interactive self-study materials which students work through

during the week, and (2) a weekly two-hour workshop with other students and a PTEE qualified facilitator. The facilitator’s role is to lead a discussion of

the material studied, help the group to answer each other’s questions, and to help students apply what has been learned within the ministry context of

each person.  Select courses also include Practical Ministry Experience opportunities for credit through which students experience direct application

of knowledge and theory to a relevant ministry situation, thus developing and strengthening their ministry skills and giftings.

While studying a PTEE course, students are expected to:

1. invest about 8 hours weekly in textbook guided study for a period of twelve weeks. Certificate of Ministry students should invest about 4 hours weekly;
2. gather weekly for the 2- hour facilitator-guided interactive workshop;
3. participate in weekly progress assessment exercises;
4. successfully complete a final assessment activity (achieving a grade of 70% or above). This may be in the form of a comprehensive exam or project or both;
5. progress towards the cognitive, affective and behavioral/skill goals of the course;
6. deepen their spiritual insight for enhanced ministry preparedness.

Fees and Financial Information

Students must pay the cost price of the workbook (photocopying & binding cost) and purchase any additional required textbooks. Local prices for these vary from

 country to country. Students also pay a basic registration fee for each course vary from country to country. The registration fee is set by each country’s National Committee.
